All tucked up cozy in the snow!

Bees do better in the winter when it is cold

Not much solar production from these panels today I am afraid

Zero (the dog) loves he snow after the first shock
Yes 5 or 6 inches of snow last night - protection for the plants against the cold.  Only problem for me is that it will be impossible to work in the wood till the snow melts!

Glebe Wood

We are starting to enjoy the wood we have just acquired. One of its strikeing features is a massive oak blasted recently by lightning! Its branches have been thrown twenty to thirty meters by the blast. Must have sounded like a bomb going off - very dangerous to be near when it happened (I wont be sheltering under any trees in the future I can tell you) Also some pics of the garden under the snow for contrast with the summer pictures

Fleecing cold

Minus 3.5 overnight last night!  I am waiting anxiously to see if my attempts to protect my more vulnerable vegetable has been successful.  I fleeced the carrots, beetroots, peas, celery, broccoli, but not the spinach & rocket.  The temperature in the greenhouse got down to + 7 last night so I am not concerned about the tomato plants yet, have yet to see what the temperature was in the Polly tunnel.  Inside the house our wood stoves are keeping us cosy!

Snow (not sea!) Dog

Merri's sculpture of Zero our dog.  About 10cm of snow yesterday and the scool closed for the last day of term - much to Merri's relief (she had been hassleing us mercilessly!
